Iryna Tsymbal was born in Minsk (Belarus, 1979). She completed her ballet studies at the Choreographic Academy of her hometown Minskin 1997. After her first engagement as a principal dancer at the Latvian National Opera in Riga, she was a principal dancer at the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre in Vilnius from 1998 to 2002 and from 2002 to 2005 in Budapest (Hungarian National Ballet).

In 2005 she joined the Ballett der Wiener Staatsoper and Volksoper (Vienna) in the rank of a principal dancer. In 2011 she was promoted to a First Soloist Dancer of the newly formed and renamed Wiener Staatsballett (Vienna State Ballet) and remained in that position till 2020. Between 2015 and 2020 she studied Ballet Pedagogy and Choreography at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (Московская государственная академия хореографии) and completed this training with distinction.

She created roles in ballets/choreographies by internationally renowned choreographers. She made a plethora of guest appearances and guest performances in several European countries – and overseas. Outstanding television broadcasts include the Vienna New Year’s Concert (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) and the Vienna Opera Ball.

At the moment she is teaching at the ballet-academy of the Europaballet in St. Pölten and Academie de Danse in Vienna Austria and she is a member of the Excellence Center for Ballet in Vienna. She gives Masterclasses in several European countries and in China as well as Jury member of Ballet Grand Prix Vienna in Shenzhen, China. She is also a guest teacher in Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Theater of Ljubljana.

Awards: 1st prize at the Szczecin Ballet Competition (1992), 2nd prize at the Diaghilev Ballet Competition in Moscow (1992), 3rd prize at the International Ballet Competition in Varna (1996), special prize at the International Ballet Competition in Paris (2000), “People/Artist of the Year award by the President of Belarus” (1996).
