A prolific talented teacher and choreographer, Mr. Cheng has won countless Excellence Teacher, best Coaching and Choreography awards worldwide, Mr. Cheng began his classical dance education at the National Taiwan Academy of Arts, where he was presented with the Honorable Ballet Dancer award from the National Taiwan Theatre. Mr. Cheng began his professional dance career with The Atlanta Ballet and was the principal dancer for The Ballet Contemporaneo de Caracas in Venezuela. In 1995, he joined Singapore Dance Theatre. Currently, he is the Artistic Director of Cheng Ballet Academy and its Youth Ballet Company.
Throughout his performance career, Mr. Cheng has danced to a wide variety of repertoires, including classical repertoire (principal roles in classical repertoires, including Giselle, Swan Lake, The Coppelia, The Nutcracker, A midsummer night’s dream, The Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda and La Traviata and George Balanchine’s ” Rubies” in Jewels, Who Cares?, Theme and Variations, The Four Temperaments, Serenade, Allegro Brillante and others works of contemporary choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, Thierry Malandain.
Throughout an illustrious dance career spanning nearly four decades, Mr. Hsienfa Cheng has made a name for himself and has also been selected to be a dedicated jury member of numerous prestigious ballet competitions worldwide, including The World Ballet Competition in the USA, The Canadian Grand Prix in Canada, The Star Canna International Ballet Competition in Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Elite Dance Competition, Miami International Ballet Competition, The Global Dance Challenge in Vancouver, The Malaysia International Ballet Grand Prix and The Kyoto Passion du Ballet Competition in Japan.

Under Mr. Cheng’s guidance, his students have been awarded numerous medals in international competitions in 2019 including Youth American Grand Prix final NY, World Ballet Competition, Varna International Ballet Competition, Global Dance Challenge International, NBA Japan Ballet Competition, Japan Ballet Competition, International Bari Ballet Competition in Italy, Star of Canaan Dance IBC, Kyoto Passion du Ballet in Japan.
