Perennial partner for videography at the Ballet Grand Prix Vienna
Balázs Delbó is a former ballet dancer and filmmaker, having over ten years of professional experience in filming the performing arts. Educated at the High school of Arts in Pécs in Hungary he has started his professional dancer career as a soloist of the Hungarian National Ballet (1996-2005). From 2005 to 2008 he worked as a soloist with the Ballett der Wiener Staatsoper und Volksoper. During these years he danced a number of solo roles and won some national and international ballet competitions. In the theatre season of 2003/04 he received the male dancer of the year award in Hungary. After his dancer carrier, he joined the film industry. During three years, he was one of the European field-editor at Kazak State Television KHABAR TV before he founded his own company, the DelbeauFilm, which is working for various theater-, ballet and dance companies as well as individual musicians, dancers and visual artists. Since 2010, the company’s most important customer is the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna State Ballet and the Volksopera Vienna for which they document DVD live recordings, livestreams and trailer. Furthermore, Balázs Delbó’s work includes documentary films such as Stage Fever about the Vienna State Ballet as well as artistic advisory for ORF-productions and DVD releases in cooperation with Unitel of works of the Vienna State Ballet such as Rudolf Nureyev’s The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Don Quixote and Edward Clug’s Peer Gynt (regisseur & cutter). Moreover, DelbeauFilm releases in cooperation with the Vienna State Opera as a director of recording and cutter DVD’s such as Hans Werner Henze’s Pollicino, Elisabeth Naske’s Das Städtchen Drumherum and Was ist los bei den Enakos?, Tristan Schulze’s Patchwork, Albert Lortzing’s Undine, Johanna Doderer’s Fatima oder von den mutigen Kindern and Alma Deutscher’s Cinderella.
